VOWS TO BUILD LARGE COALITION TO TACKLE BIG ISSUES FACING DISTRICT
Englewood, CO - Tuesday, April 13, 2021
Kristin Allan, a small business owner, practicing attorney, and active parent in the Cherry Creek School District (CCSD) formally announced her campaign launch on Monday at the Cherry Creek Board of Education meeting. She vows to build collaboration with students, teachers, and families to strengthen CCSD and the funding issues facing the district.
“Strong public schools are not only the bedrock of our democratic republic, but the foundation of a strong local economy. As a board member, I will build teamwork and engagement among our administrators, faculty, families, and community,” Kristin stated.
Kristin is running for the District E seat on the board, currently held by Karen Fisher, who is President of the CCSD Board of Education. Fisher is term-limited. All registered voters inside CCSD will be able to vote for members of the board in the November 2, 2021 election whether they live in District E or not.
Though the school board elections are non-partisan, Kristin shows broad support from voters of all political stripes in her announcement.
“We are proud parents of students in CCSD and we back Kristin Allan for the Cherry Creek School Board because she listens and gets things done. We have different political affiliations, but one thing we all agree on is that Kristin will do what’s best for CCSD and our community, and not put a divisive or extreme ideology ahead of our children and schools,” stated independent voters Karen and Rich Herbst, Republican voters Shawna and Rowan Allen, and Democratic voters Matt and Linda Bales-Klosowski in a joint statement.
“No party has a monopoly on good ideas. Our campaign will be releasing a large list of endorsements from current and former elected officials from all political stripes in the coming weeks,” Kristin stated. She continued, “I know what it means to lead. When elected, I am going to work with a broad coalition and operate with integrity and accountability to tackle the big funding issues we face in CCSD in the coming months and years. I know we can provide a quality education to all our children, no matter their zip code.”
